Osman Can Özcanlı is one of the young talents brought up in our country in design during recent years. The young designer lastly exhibited his talents during the International Competition of Young Design Entrepreneurs realized for the first time in Turkey this year. Partaking in the contest with his designs that are extraordinary such as transparent toaster, pliable origami DVD player and ozpack, Özcanlı was elected the “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” by breasting the tape as the winner among nearly 50 designers.

Prized with the winner position as a result of the voting by the jury including Ron Arad, a designer with international acclaim, during the competition realized under the collaboration of British Council and İstanbul Museum of Modern Art, Özcanlı has been entitled to represent Turkey at the competition for the “International Young Design Entrepreneur of the Year” to be held in the UK.
Although we call Özcanly a young designer, he actually is a figure whose name has been mentioned in Europe and the USA for many years.

Having worked for four years at Invetables, a company engaged in technology and materials consultancy in Chicago, Özcanlı has also been providing design consultancy service for many global companies like Philip Morris, Mercedes and Colgate for one year.

Özcanlı pays attention to two elements in design. The first one is that it solves the user's problem and facilitates life. The second one is that it entertains people.

Stating that he likes surprising people, Özcanlı says: “In the designs that I create, the product solves the user's problem in a witty fashion. When I progress based on this formula, the product receives great attention and it is sells a lot.”
