Beijing Olympics is now over with its exciting races and broken records. However, the Olympics have been a bit bitter in our view. Because, Cüneyt Koryürek, who made the entire Turkey love athletics, was not with us this time. We did not have the chance to watch the competitions and competitors in the light of his vast knowledge.

Having a profound expertise in the Olympics, Mr. Koryürek would keep closely abreast with developments; he would miss no social activity.

Probably the most important among the positive traits that he possessed was that he would not keep his knowledge to himself, but share it with everyone interested in the subject. With this quality of his, he would fervently transfer his knowledge to the youngsters, guide them and encourage them to improve themselves.

He would make a difference with his vast experience and knowledge in every project he was a part of, in newspaper columns, in TV shows he appeared on; thus, he would differentiate the flavor and quality of the resulting output. Those who were around him and able to analyze him rightfully were able to learn a lot from him. In the bottom line, Cüneyt Koryürek was a “genuine” veteran.
