The number of technologies and innovations, especially after the 1950s, is more than the number of all the rest before 1950s. The date informatics started to appear falls on to the same time period. The book prepared by Akdogan Özkan, sponsored by Microsoft, "Our Informatics Age By Memories and Photos" is presenting Turkiye's half a century old informatics adventure in a simple approach. In the first periods of the Republic of Turkiye, DIE (Institute of State Statistics) was the leading establishment creating a massive amount of data. DIE is an establishment where many forms for survey and census purposes are created, and accumulated data obtained from such studies are processed and evaluated. Therefore, the institute is one of the first corporations that has met the 1st generation computers with punch cards. According to institute's sources, the institute's informatics history starts in 1935. The first information technology center in Turkiye was founded in 1960 in Highway Authority. But the full name of the processing center was "IBM Administration". Because at that time, computer and IBM basically ment the same. At that period computers were built per order and production would take months. Computers ordered by Turkiye took approximately one year to produce.
