Kerem Gorsev is once again before his audience with his 10th album "Orange Juice" after "Hands and Lips" which he launced in 1994. Gorsev began working on his 11th album "No Shave No Kiss" soon after "Orange Juice" came out. "Orange Juice" is a product of a year's work. By the way he is working on "Istanbul Jazz Center" project which he plans to open in Ortakoy. According to Gorsev, jazz is developing fast in Turkey and that is fascinating. More than an expected amount of people listen to jazz in Turkey. But which kind of jazz is listened is important, as well. Technologic ones, popular styles can be forgotten after a while. Traditional jazz is something that does not go out of fashion. Real jazz can always be kept alive if insisted on.
"In the researches carried abroad it is said that children listening to Mozart are more intelligent. Jazz has an effect on intelligence and calmness. It gives you tranquility. It feeds creativity. In my environment I see that people who listen to jazz have successful careers and are creative. Being inspired by jazz they create" says Gorsev and he adds he did not go on a vacation with his family since he cannot live a day away from, and without touching, his piano.
When asked about his new projects, Gorsev says, "With Aytek Sermet and Volkan Hursever we will open one of world's most important clubs in Radisson Hotel that will be built in Ortakoy. It will be named Istanbul Jazz Center. We will invite many people from abroad. We have intentions and dreams. In November people will have the chance to listen to jazz in a real jazz club. I will give lots of concerts in Turkey and abroad. I have this new album and the jazz club project ahead of me, both of which will change my life seriously."
